Salon Owners Lock down- Covid 19

My heart is breaking…

Following last night’s announcement, we have taken the difficult decision to close the salon until further notice to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our clients, staff, families and the amazing NHS

This has been taken out of our hands now and we need to do what’s right, we cannot distance ourselves from clients when our work is so personal.

Now I know I’m not the only person going through this right now all across the world people are closing down their businesses and letting staff go.

It’s heart breaking, but this is my story.

I launched Revive Luxury Beauty in April 2011 when my daughter was only 6 months old, not a penny to my name and dealing with post-natal depression! Crazy I know!

Everyone told me not to do it, that I’d be mad to, that I didn’t have a clue how to run a business and I had no experience and that id fail and that I wasn’t in the right headspace!

Which agree I wasn’t, but I wasn’t going to let this go, I was going for it no matter what anyone told me! Typical Taurus!

For so many years previous to this I was also told the same. I finished school, I was told “why are choosing to do a beauty course, where’s that ever going to take you. Why don’t you resit your GCSES instead?”

I was determined id prove everyone wrong and id make a success of myself even if I wasn’t the cleavest with the highest GCSES grades.

Finally, I’m qualified as a therapist back in 2002 with the highest grades and one of few who finished the course.

You’ll laugh now whilst I was studying, I worked in Sainsburys on the chicken counter! Yep me prepping chickens, cleaning ovens!

I was determined to succeed in anything that was given to me once id left school!

My first beauty job was at Champneys Health spa Tring I was over the moon, I was also offered a position at Henlow grange at the same time, But Champneys was my dream!

My career took off with being in many top spas, looking after celeb clients.

My FAVORITE place I worked in was La residencia hotel, Deia , Majorca! I moved to Majorca and had the best time ever. I could go on and on.

I was finally at the top of my career! I couldn’t be prouder of what I had achieved. But there was something missing from all of it. It still wasn’t enough I wanted more; I wanted my own salon!

I was going to do everything in my power to run my own salon and I got it I finally have done it!

So, if you are knocked back constantly or told you’re not good enough. You need to believe in you, you are good enough and you can do whatever it is you want to do!

Put your mind to it and you will achieve it., put the hard work and passion in and you will succeed.

With Revive Luxury Beauty I have shred tears, laughed lots and have had times I wanted to give up, but this just makes me stronger.

My salon is my calm space and I’m sure it’s my employees and client’s calm space too.

As I mentioned I suffered with post-natal depression with my first daughter and too this day I can say it was my salon that pulled me through the darkness.

I also know the salon and my team have pulled others out of there darkness, not just clients but team members too.

We support and care about every person that walks through the door and this is what’s heart breaking right now, but this will not beat us!

Like I said passion and hard work and we will be back stronger than ever! A virus won’t crush my dreams!

So please whilst we are in lock down and you start to feel you’re in a dark place please feel free to reach out to us, we are here to listen and support you even when were closed.

The whole team and I cannot thank you enough for your overwhelming continued support, it means the world to us.

I would like to thank my fantastic team for all their hard work to keep the salon a safe and happy space.

We will try and give you all a call through these times as we will miss you all as well!

Here’s a few tips to keep positive

Write a journal

What 3 things are you grateful for today

Practice some meditation

Read a good book and get lost in it

Reach out to someone today

Do something that makes you smile

You can still continue to book your appointments for the upcoming months via our online booking or download our salon app.

We will be keeping social on fb and Instagram with lots of tips and tricks coming your way.
